Viral Facebook submit incorrectly claims {that a} record of PPE contracts are all unfulfilled

A viral Facebook submit claims that the federal government spent £1 billion on private protecting tools (PPE) which by no means arrived.

The contracts listed are actual, however there is no such thing as a proof to say that none of this PPE ever arrived.

For instance, the primary contract listed was to obtain face masks from Ayanda Capital Ltd for £252 million. Ayanda Capital Ltd was the one bidder. Its Chief Operating Officer is quoted as saying that the contract was “successfully fulfilled.”

The second pertains to a sequence of contracts awarded to Uniserve Ltd, amounting to £186 million. Uniserve Ltd was the one bidder for all 5 contracts.

The firm often publishes updates on its deliveries of PPE. We requested the corporate as to the standing of PPE deliveries associated to these contracts and can replace this piece if we obtain a response.

Concern has been raised about how the federal government procured PPE and different providers through the pandemic. There have been stories of PPE being delayed or unusable.

It’s attainable that some PPE contracts haven’t been fulfilled, however there is no such thing as a proof we’ve seen that all the contracts, if any, listed on this Facebook submit stay unfulfilled.

For the needs of that scheme, we’ve rated this declare as partly false
as a result of whereas these contracts are actual there is no such thing as a proof that each one these contracts had been all unfulfilled.
