The West Bengal authorities on Thursday stated the lockdown in containment zones within the state might be prolonged until August 31.
Earlier, the state had stated the shutdown in containment zones might be in pressure until July 31.
There might be an entire lockdown throughout the state on August 5, August 8, August 16-17, August 23-24 and August 31, as introduced earlier, a notification issued by Chief Secretary Rajiva Sinha stated.
Educational centres, teaching institutes, cinema halls, swimming swimming pools, leisure parks, theatres, bars, auditoriums and meeting halls will stay closed until August 31, it stated.
During the whole lockdown days in August, all authorities and personal places of work, industrial institutions, private and non-private transport, together with flight providers, might be stop to function, the notification stated.
Essential providers together with healthcare, agriculture operations and residential supply of meals, have been exempted on such days.
However, gyms and yoga institutes exterior containment zones might be allowed to operate from August 5, barring the full lockdown days, the notification added.
